Mwamba Kayembe Clovis-Alidor

As one of the founders of the democratic opposition in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly known as Zaire), he was repeatedly tempted with offers of ministerial portfolios under Mobutu's kleptocracy, as well as recommendations for various lucrative CEO chairmanships during Kabila's regime. However, he chose to reject these inducements in favour of a campaign of conscience. He expressed his critical views of government policy through newspaper articles written under a vibrant cast of pseudonyms.
