This book, BILONDA MBIYE, started as a personal conversation between mother and daughter; a mother telling stories about her childhood within a cultural setting. This labor of love expresses the emotional journey of a young girl, who became a mother, grandmother, then great-grandmother,
as she reflects on the habits and traditions of her community. This is also a story about interactions between different social groups in the region of her birth, Congo-Kinshasa.
